Scholarship and Other College Information

  • Don’t forget to research and then apply for colleges that you are interested in! Deadlines are before usually before December 1st.
  • Go to under the Counseling— at the bottom of the page is all the counseling and college/scholarship links. Tons of valuable information to help prepare for the next level of education.
  • Just a reminder about scholarships. Sometimes they can be a scam and you need to be aware and careful about that.  A good rule is “If they ask for you to send money or they guarantee you the scholarship” then it is probably a scam.
  • Boys – remember to register for selective service. After you register please print a copy for verification.

UW Cowboy Commitment Scholarship – This is a GREAT scholarship that is on top of the Hathaway.

UW Scholarship Info – 

Please share these important UW updates with your high school seniors:

  1. UW is ACT/SAT test optional for admission purposes through the incoming class of fall 2025. 
  2. ACT/SAT test scores are required to be eligible for the Hathaway Scholarship. 

For the Cowboy Commitment, UW’s financial pledge that helps incoming first-year Wyoming students pay for UW, there is a test optional category or a grid dependent on a student’s unweighted gpa and test scores. Details can be found at:

  2. Trustees’ Scholars Award deadline is December 1 to apply, submit official transcripts and required test scores. 
    1. Please know any ACT/SAT test scores must be received by December 1
    2. Last year’s recipients had an average unweighted gpa of 3.95 and an average 33 ACT test score
