Scholarship and Other College Information

Don’t forget to research and then apply for colleges that you are interested in! Deadlines are before usually before December 1^st.
Go to cokeville.com under the Counseling— at the bottom of the page is all the counseling and college/scholarship links. Tons of valuable information to help prepare for the next level of education.
Just a reminder about scholarships. Sometimes they can be a scam and you need to be aware and careful about that. A good rule is “If they ask for you to send money or they guarantee you the scholarship” then it is probably a scam.
Boys – remember to register for selective service. After you register please print a copy for verification.

UW Cowboy Commitment Scholarship – This is a GREAT scholarship that is on top of the Hathaway.

Please share these important UW updates with your high school seniors:

UW is ACT/SAT test optional for admission purposes through the incoming class of fall 2025.
ACT/SAT test scores are required to be eligible for the Hathaway Scholarship.

For the Cowboy Commitment, UW’s financial pledge that helps incoming first-year Wyoming students pay for UW, there is a test optional category or a grid dependent on a student’s unweighted gpa and test scores. Details can be found at: https://www.uwyo.edu/sfa/scholarships/residents/index.html

Visit Options- we offer multiple options for students to visit campus or learn more about UW virtually.
1. Prospective students may schedule an weekday campus visit: http://www.uwyo.edu/visit
2. UW Showcase is set for Saturday, November 12. This event provides high school seniors a closer look at UW. (Website is set to be updated this week: http://www.uwyo.edu/showcase)

4. Cowboy Webinar series starts in October for seniors: http://www.uwyo.edu/events
Trustees’ Scholars Award deadline is December 1 to apply, submit official transcripts and required test scores.
1. Please know any ACT/SAT test scores must be received by December 1
2. Last year’s recipients had an average unweighted gpa of 3.95 and an average 33 ACT test score
